Mission Statement

To be an international centre of excellence in research and teaching in strategic areas of science and technology directed by the needs of the marine and offshore industries.

Short Historical Statement

Formed in the mid 1970's as a group of materials specialists interested in the behaviour of steels in offshore applications. The Centre has grown and diversified to the present time, and is responsible for presenting one of the UK's leading courses in this field, viz. MSc in Marine Technology
