Provision of information and records management services.

General Details
The library houses one of the most comprehensive collections of fisheries literature in the world and has been in existence since the early part of the century.

It contains over 20,000 books, pamphlets, reprints and translations, and 1,200 current periodicals and serials. Subject coverage includes fish and shellfish research, marine biology, oceanography and aquatic pollution. There are sub-libraries at Burnham-on-Crouch and Weymouth. The information services are primarily available to Laboratory and Ministry staff. Reference services are available to other research workers and bona-fide enquirers.

Future Plans
Expansion of electronic information services.

Availability
The facility is available to other bodies in both the private and public sector. There are no restrictions on the type of body that can apply to use the facility. Access to the facility is limited to bona-fide enquirers.

Charging Basis
Published rates are available on request.
