Mission Statement

To be an international centre of excellence in inter- and multi-disciplinary research, relevant to a wide range of marine industries.

Short Historical Statement

Founded in 1976 as one of the network of UK Centres for Marine Technology, primarily to support the needs of the developing North Sea Offshore Oil and Gas Industry. The Centre has grown and diversified with time and a considerable proportion of its current work is at the interface between engineering and biology for marine applications.
