General Details
The library comprises over 40,000 books and pamphlets, 1,100 current periodical titles, charts, slides, reports and ICES papers. The topics covered include marine biology, oceanography, fisheries, fishing methods, gear and aquaculture. Some of the specialist literature available includes an FRS Annual Report and Account, Scottish Fisheries Research Reports, Scottish Fisheries Information Pamphlets, Scottish Aquaculture Research Reports and Aquaculture Information Series.

Future Plans
Access to Aquatic Sciences and Fisheries Abstracts (ASFA) on CD–ROM.

Availability
The facility is available to other bodies in both the private and public sector. There are no restrictions on the type of body that can apply to use the facility. Time on the facility is allocated for bona fide research to staff, resident visitors and students.

Charging Basis
There is a possibility of negotiating exchange agreements. Photocopies can be supplied.
